We're always on the lookout for ways to feed our degenerate need for poker action and access to poker on our mobile device pretty much tops the list.
We had high hopes for Windows 7 phones but since they still haven't implemented Flash our dreams of playing real money in-browser online poker have been put on hiatus.
In this week's installment of Gimmick we're looking at the next best thing: Play-money poker on Windows 7 phones. And for the XBox Live crowd there's a special bonus that goes along with this game.
The days of driving and not playing mobile poker will soon be over.
The really cool thing about this game is that it actually acts as a companion game to the XBox 360 version. You can play the mobile version with your XBox Live avatar and work on your bankroll and experience on the go.
There are a few limitations, like the absence of multi-player on the mobile version, but this is definitely a step in the right direction as far as Microsoft's efforts to link up home console gaming with mobile devices.
In light of recent developments between EA Studios and Virgin Group to allow XBox players to wager money on virtual games, this could open up a whole new sector for online poker.
The game itself looks good, utilizing your XBox Live avatar and some good animations. Most of the graphic components of the game are customizable and the developers promise a wide variety of thinking opponents to keep you on your toes.
While no substitute for real money mobile poker we're still going to give this a shot in an attempt to keep our poker jones at bay. We'll let you know how it turns out.
